Hope for the best, prepare for the worst

In a lecture held in 2011 at the Technical University of Stuttgart, Germany, meaning to introduce his company, and to entice graduates into applying for jobs, the CEO of a German global player in automotive equipment, in answering a question from the floor, dropped the remark that, generally speaking, developers of hardware are less bright than the developers of software, because of which he would expect his company to be sold to - e.g. - Google in the foreseeable future. Thus, his message read: “Dummies, apply with us, bright people, save yourselves the detour and apply to Google, right away!“
