We now know what we are looking for: An applicable substrate capable of harbouring the structure and the causality common to mind and matter. The technologies most likely to fit are those based on electromagnetic fields. An integration of those in use in ATC, VTS, V2V, navigation and communication could lead to an autonomous cognitive agent as a node in a field of like agents. -
Is this dualism? No, it isn't. Because, it is not the mind as such that is copied from one substrate - the brain - and is imprinted on an artificial one, as AI once dreamed of accomplishing. What is copied are structure and causality, and they are common to anything there is. -
Is this monism? No, it isn't. Because the diversity of possible substrates is asserted. -
So, dear philosophers, start it all over, again!
